1:100 AH-1G Cobra

I realise it's been ages I posted something here. I recently finished this new toy.. errm I mean tactical support for mu US players in Nam 68, and none other than the old Bell AH-1G Cobra gunship. It is completely unnecessary to model for Nam'68, but I just really wanted to build and paint one!

The model is an old Aoshima 1/100 model kit (most known nowadays as a revel kit) with pilot figs from Flashpoint miniatures and decals from Battlefron/Team Yankee.

I had a lot of fun with it, but one is reminded of how delicate actual model kits are compared to dedicated wargaming models, some details are quite spindly and will go MIA at some point!

I finally got to run a game of Nam’68 with two mates of mine visiting the scorching hot(!) north. We rolled up a Search and sweep scenario with 5 search points, sweeping down a main road in the late evening(the approaching night sub-plot). Vietcong fighters with smg's

Time for a few new more VC models, mainly freedom fighters with smg's. I haven't really found proper VC's with smgs in 15mm, so I had to improvise a bit. The lad with the slightly oversized mp40 is a Peter Pig vc sapper, the rest are actually from the PP Montagnard range. The guy to the far right is a VC NCO model, but he'll work double shifts as an infiltrator with pistol when I'll need him to.
